Review: I've been on sort of an Alaskan kick. First Dana Stabenow's BLINDFOLD And something I've never thought about,or was aware of, the existence of racial tension between Indians and Eskimos. Review: Alex Price, a Bethel bush pilot in Fairbanks, Alaska, is looking forward to a pleasant evening, catching up with old friend and former prospecting partner Stan and Stan's lovely Athabascan wife, Angie. But an urgent summons from Stan brings Alex to a local bar, there to witness Stan's violent death in the explosion of his vehicle. No fool, Alex percieves a possible threat to Angie. And he's right... "A retired pilot, Porter writes gracefully about flying in Alaska in his soaring debut, evoking its breathtaking beauty and the joy of traveling across the state in a small plane... The fast pacing and gorgeous scenery hook the reader from the beginning."
